I-house Community in the Bahamas

I have been talking to a few friends and we are very interested in purchasing a few different models and constructing them on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. We already own several plots of land and have been looking for the right homes to build here. The i-house seems to be a great concept and a good fit for the area. Our only big concern at this point is how well these homes will survive the high winds of a hurricane. Our idea is to construct a small community centered around being self sufficient and leaving as small a foot print on this beautiful island as possible. We all have different backgrounds which will be helpful in trying to complete this project. Our goal is to generate our own power via wind and solar. Collect and produce our own water via reverse osmosis from the ocean and rain water. I look forward to working with the team at i-house and encourage anyone that may have some advice for us or interest in our project to drop us a line.

I suggested that they would have particular appeal off-shore in Caribbean island countries such as USVI but no luck so far. Good luck!

We do not want to disappoint, but we have to feel confident in our ability to deliver on promises made and an off shore installation is something we know little about. We are consulting with others about both of these projects and hope to give you an answer - but I am sure you only want our assurances if we can deliver - so do we.

Wow, this sounds great! I was actually thinking of doing one either on the Big Island of Hawaii, because land is somewhat cheap (for Hawaii) or somewhere in Northern California, in the Groveland area. I wonder about the 2X solar option, for 25K, you can get better solar packages and be completely self sufficient. Still, this house looks amazing! Great job on the website too!
