I-house Community in the Bahamas

I have been talking to a few friends and we are very interested in purchasing a few different models and constructing them on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. We already own several plots of land and have been looking for the right homes to build here. The i-house seems to be a great concept and a good fit for the area. Our only big concern at this point is how well these homes will survive the high winds of a hurricane. Our idea is to construct a small community centered around being self sufficient and leaving as small a foot print on this beautiful island as possible. We all have different backgrounds which will be helpful in trying to complete this project. Our goal is to generate our own power via wind and solar. Collect and produce our own water via reverse osmosis from the ocean and rain water.
