Basement

Is it possible to put a basement underneath the I-house for additional room and water retention (rain cistern) as well as a garage?

Can the room and window placements be made to optimize the sun on the particular lot?

Lastly, is this suitable for cold weather climats (upper pen. of Michigan)?

You can place the i-house on a basement and re-position the windows. However, these changes may require engineering changes and may have additional cost. The i-house will be built to any local standard required - in upper Michigan we would build to the prevailing snow load.

So the foundation is just a skirting, not a basement? If we want a basement, we can get one but it will cost more, right? Estimate of a full basement for the i-House II under just the main house?

A basement is possible. A basement will vary in cost depending on where you are located. The model home center coordinating your home installation will have several contractors that can price and assist you in installing a basement.
